The Dire King - Book 4 in the Jackaby Series - Review and Excerpt

Idgie Says:
I was excited and yet saddened when I received this final book in the Jackaby series.  I really enjoyed the novels, found them to be readable for all ages, and am disappointed to hear this is it  for Jackaby.

The dialogue in the final book continues with all of the characters having rapier sharp tongues - the banter and one-offs had me snickering on several occasions.  This series is published by Algonquin Young Readers, but it is definitely aimed at readers with a high vocabulary.  Terms such as evisceration, coherence and  somnifacient are tossed about regularly throughout the paragraphs.

I am secretly hoping that William changes his mind and that there will be an encore book down the line.
