The Last Widow - Review

Idgie Says:

This is a quick paced novel simmering in hatred. It dips it's toes into many of the issues the US is dealing with right now - it's very current in time and place.  It contains a ruthless bad guy - quiet and polite...until he's not. This bad guy has a horrific goal he wants to reach, and the body count doesn't matter.

Then there's Will, I love this character. He's definitely the strong silent type that has flaws and difficulties but doesn't let them stop him from accomplishing his goals.

In the first part of the book there's a few Interesting chapters that contain the exact same scenes, but told from different character perspectives. It's different and I liked it.

This is a very violent book with a lot of carnage, so if you get queasy while reading, be warned. Sly sarcasm is thrown into scenes unexpectedly, but the light levity is definitely welcome.  There's also the sensitive subject of child molestation so keep that in mind if that's a trigger subject for you.

The story hooked me quickly and it can be read as a stand alone.  Though it's Book 9 in the Will Trent series, they fill in enough backstory that you don't flounder for details.

I recommend this book.  I personally tore through it in a couple of days and it's a good size at 450 pages.
