This is a fascinating book that is almost fantasy wrapped around reality. A family of backwards, backwoods people who most would go out of their way to avoid believe they are werewolves. Or are they actually just that?
The unnamed main character will have to wait until he's 16 to discover if he is indeed a werewolf, but meanwhile must live with these people that are rude, crude and downright crazy at times.
This is a gritty book with no lightness to it. An open mind needs to be kept while reading it, but through it all, you keep rooting for the boy - hoping the family is just crazy and that he can escape when he's of age.
