The President Has Been Shot

Idgie Says:
I think that the coolest thing I can say about the book to start off my review is that when I showed it to my 12 year old son he asked me, "When you're done reviewing it, can I keep it on my bookshelf?"  There, review done - it says it all.  :)

This is a great book that entertains and educates the young reader.  Not too long - about 200 pages, chock full of photos to keep the fascination strong, and the best part is that it doesn't talk down to the reader - it keeps the story factual but in a flowing narrative that maintains a younger person's interest.

Not to be gross, but the description of the bullets shooting into the President and the carnage they incurred will be very pleasing to young boys (and probably a few girls) who love the "details".  Additionally, the photos of the Secret Service men leaping into the car, shot by shot, is definitely a winner.

A great learning tool, as well as a good read for young adults...........and the not quite so young ones as well!
